The Shires Newest Day Surgery Takes Shape

The new $6.5 Million day surgery development on the Kingsway in Miranda is taking shape, with the completion of the project expected by January 2015, said Kingsway Day Surgery CEO, Mr Steven Rajcany.

“With an increasing demand for day surgery services in the area the new day surgery will be commissioned at an ideal time.”

“The new facility will no doubt be a much needed enhancement to the Sutherland Shire and bring undeniable benefit to the local community”, said Mr Rajcany.

The Kingsway Day Surgery occupying a floor of the medical precinct will be a dedicated day procedure centre.

The facility will boast two operating theatres with state- of- the- art medical equipment and two specialised treatment rooms. The two additional treatment rooms have been designed specifically for minor procedures.

Specialist services include ophthalmology, gastroenterology, urology, dermatology and plastic & reconstructive surgery.

The facility includes a large recovery area set in a comfortable and modern environment.

Some thirty extra staff; including administration, nursing and ancillary staff will be newly employed at the day surgery with expressions of interests currently being sought.

Located ideally close to Kareena Private Hospital, also operated by Ramsay Health Care, the Kingsway Day Surgery will provide enhanced medical services for the Sutherland Shire community and expand on an already comprehensive range of medical, surgical, maternity and rehabilitation services currently found at Kareena Private Hospital.
